It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to.

There were lots of things Nathaniel enjoyed about his birthday.  Toys!  Wrapping Paper!  But, there were two things that quickly turned Nathaniel's shrieks of happiness into tears and shrieks of anger.  Party Hats and Cupcakes.  Sure, they seem harmless, but to Nathaniel they are sadistic tools of torture.

When your baby turns one...

I'm sure most parents wonder how a year can go by so quickly, especially when you spend a part of it not getting enough sleep.  For me, Nathaniel's birthday was bittersweet.  I was happy to see my baby turn one, but it was also a reminder how quickly time flies by.

Happy Halloween

This year was Nathaniel's first Halloween, and his Grandma and Grandpa Appelt came out to help us celebrate.  A big thank you goes out to Aunt Jennifer for finding his Dragon costume for us.


We only took him to a few places, but everyone thought he looked super cute.
