Maybe it was the perfect weather (70 degrees), the sun, or just the fun of creating the day as we went along, but it turned out to be a day worth talking about. Sure, if you look at pieces of the day, it may seem less than stellar. Like explaining to the lady taking our picture at Corner Bakery that it was only our fourth anniversary, no we are not visiting, and yes, I want a picture of us eating bagels and cinnamon rolls.
Or my poor sore feet after I walked almost seven miles in ballet flats. Yet, these moments become minor (and even fade out of memory....well, almost) when the rest seems almost magical. Also, I was reminded that sometimes it's nice to enjoy your city the way a tourist might. There were many times in the day when I thought, "Wow, I live here!"
We enjoyed the Matisse exhibit at the Art Institute.
We ate lunch on the terrace at Terzo Piano.
Caught the end of a free music performance and enjoyed the prairie garden at Millennium Park .
And, of course, ate ice cream.

Congratulations and I think your celebration says it all. Remember to celebrate the little things as much as the grand ones.
Ah, yes, a perfect day in every way! (Cannot believe it has been four years. I felt so privileged to attend your wedding.)
